Placement Tests

Saturday 3 May 2008

Check in at 8:30 a.m.
in the Trinity Hall Lobby
Testing should conclude by 11:30 a.m.

Subject examinations will be held in language, math and science designed to assure proper placement of incoming students. A formal orientation program for parents will run concurrently in the Arts Center Auditorium and conclude with a question and answer period. (Dress is casual)

What do I bring?
Calculators are NOT required. #2 pencils will be supplied.

 

Math Placement

Who?
Students new to Delbarton that are registered for MA101-Algebra I , MA201-Geometry or MA301-Algebra II & Trig need to take the Math Placement Exam. Fr Eamon-Math

What's it about?
Students registered for MA101-Algebra I will take a test in math skills. Students registered for MA201-Geometry will take an exam covering MA101 Algebra I topics. Students registered for MA301-Algebra II & Trig will take an exam covering MA201-Geometry.

 

Science Placement

Who?
All students new to Delbarton will take the science placement test to determine a best fit in either BL101-Introduction to Biology or BL102-Comprehensive Introduction to Biology. Demonstrated competence in this test is a requirement for BL102.Science Lab

What's it about?
Multiple choice questions covering concepts in life science. earth science and the physical sciences.

 

Language Placement

Who?
Students new to Delbarton planning to study Level II or above of French, German, Latin or Spanish.

What's it about?
Language Lab
For French, German or Spanish there is both an oral and written component. The oral portion involves a brief interview with one of Delbarton's language teachers. The Latin Placement Test is all written.
